Railway wooden threaded track studs are key components used in railway track systems to fix rails and wooden sleepers, and their design and application scenarios are specific

 

Main uses
1. Rail fixation
The bottom of the rail is tightly fixed to the wooden sleepers through a threaded structure to prevent the rail from moving longitudinally or laterally and ensure the stability of the gauge.
2. Transfer the load
The dynamic loads generated by the train passing through the rails are distributed to the sleepers and track beds to reduce the stress concentration of the track structure.
3. Insulation function
The combination of wooden sleepers and threaded track studs has certain insulation properties and can assist in the normal operation of the track circuit in the electrified section.

 

Usage scenarios
1. Wooden sleeper line
Railway lines dedicated to traditional wooden sleepers, especially those laid in the early days or specific maintenance sections. Modern concrete sleepers usually use elastic fasteners, but wooden sleepers are still seen in some areas.
2. Small-radius curves or special sections
On curves or slopes where the stability of the rails needs to be enhanced, the pull-out force of the threaded track studs can effectively resist centrifugal force or slippage.
3. Temporary tracks or maintenance scenarios
Due to its convenient installation, it is often used in temporary railways, construction access roads or emergency maintenance.

 

Structural features
Thread design: Usually helical or hook-shaped threads are used to increase the bite force with wooden sleepers and prevent loosening.
Material: Mostly Q235 steel or weathering steel, and the surface may be galvanized for rust prevention.
Installation method: Pre-drilled holes are required and then hammered or screwed in. The top is used in conjunction with the rail bottom fastener plate.
