Product Description

Railway Tools— Rail Chisel Hammer
Railway Tools— Rail Chisel Hammer
Main uses
Trim the welded joints of the rails
It is used to cut off the weld beads and burrs after aluminothermic welding, flash welding and other welding processes on the rail, making the rail head contour smooth and reducing the impact when the train passes through.
2. Clean the surface defects of the steel rails
Remove local damages such as cracks, spalling and indentations on the surface of the rail to prevent the expansion of defects.
3. Edge treatment at the rail ends
Chamfering is carried out at the end of the rail (such as at the rail joint) to reduce the contact stress between the wheel and the rail and prevent the end of the rail from cracking.
4. Emergency rail repair
When there is no professional grinding equipment, it can be temporarily used to chop off the fat and flash edges of steel rails to ensure the safety of train operation.

Usage scenarios
Rail welding construction
After welding operations such as aluminothermic welding, pneumatic welding and flash welding, the weld bead should be trimmed with a chisel hammer to make the rail surface smooth.
2. Daily maintenance of the lines
When the maintenance personnel are conducting inspections and find damage to the surface of the steel rails (such as fish-scale patterns, peeling and falling pieces), they can use a chisel hammer for local treatment.
3. Maintenance of turnouts and joints
The pointed rails, basic rails and common joint parts of turnouts are prone to fat edges, which need to be chopped off regularly to maintain good contact between the wheel-rail.
4. When there is no professional grinding equipment
In remote areas or emergency situations, a chisel hammer can replace a small grinding machine for simple rail shaping.

Tool features
Hammer head design: One end is a flat head (for striking), and the other end is an axe blade (for chopping). Some models come with a ruler to control the chopping depth.
Material: Forged from high carbon steel or alloy steel, featuring high hardness, impact resistance and less prone to chipping.
Weight: Usually 1.5 to 3 kilograms, it is convenient for one-handed operation and suitable for continuous work.
Railway Tools— Rail Chisel Hammer

The rail chiseling hammer is an important manual tool in railway track maintenance, mainly used for the trimming of welded joints, the treatment of rail surface defects and emergency maintenance. Although its efficiency is not as high as that of an electric grinding machine, it is still irreplaceable in conditions without power or in fine operations. Correct use can extend the service life of steel rails and improve the smoothness of train operation.
