1. Electrical insulation
In electrified railways or sections where track circuits are adopted, insulated fishplates isolate adjacent rails through non-conductive materials (such as nylon, glass fiber reinforced plastic, etc.) to prevent current leakage across sections and ensure the accurate transmission of track circuit signals.
Avoid short circuits between adjacent track circuits to ensure the normal operation of the signal system.
2. Mechanical connection
While providing electrical insulation, it maintains the mechanical connection strength between the rails, withstands the longitudinal force and lateral impact force when trains pass through, and ensures the continuity and stability of the tracks.
